A series of grants supporting the arts and tourism sectors in Huron-Bruce was announced Aug. 12 as the province seeks to boost local tourism in small-town Ontario while re-imagining a post-COVID life.

MPP Lisa MacLeod, who is also Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture, announced over $550,000 in funding to help propel the local arts and tourism sectors in her Huron-Bruce riding.

“We know that in order to sustain small-town Ontario we need to continue keeping the lights on and flowing the dollars to make sure that coming out of the pandemic people when people are confident to be out and about again, have those amazing local festivals and local cultural entities to visit,” Thompson said.

Through Community Museum Operating Grants, the Celebrate Ontario program and the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the government has made investments to enrich local tourism and economies.
