Community Economic Development

Community Economic Development Initiatives are projects that strengthen, enhance and expand Huron’s economy.

Generally, an opportunity for economic growth is flagged by a community group, agency, or organization. Once identified, a request for support from Community Futures Huron can be made. Such assistance may be in the form of grants, staff support for planning & project management, or some other type of in-kind contribution and expertise.

In general, the project must be linked to Community Future Huron’s goals and objectives and not create long-term dependency upon the Corporation.  Proponents must invest their own resources (dollars or in-kind) while fully investigating other partners and funding sources.
